Becoming Catholic (RCIA)

IMG_6873The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a journey toward living a full, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ through full initiation into the Catholic Church.  For some, this involves receiving all of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.  Others may have been validly baptized in different Christian denominations, and will receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist to become members of the Catholic Church.  Finally, even Catholics participate in RCIA.  Many have been baptized, but have not been fully initiated by way of Confirmation and Eucharist.  Still, other Catholics come to RCIA simply to renew their Christian faith and understanding.

God has made each of us unique, and He calls each of us in a deeply personal way.  The journey toward  celebrating the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil, therefore, can be quite different for each person.  No matter where you are on your journey, no matter how curious or confident you are about becoming Catholic, the Divine Child community happily invites you.

For more information, please fill out the Interest Form and send in to the Rectory office or contact Jodi Ann Micallef, or 313.277.3110 ext. 222.

RCIA classes are held on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the Divine Child High School Learning Center.
