Communications Commission

Church of the Divine Child’s Communications Commission was formed to open the lines of communication between the Schools and parish, and to assist organizations in publicizing their news in the Divine Child Sunday bulletin, The Infant. The Commission coordinates and publishes a monthly parish/School calendar.

The Commission is comprised of volunteers from various areas of the parish and the Schools. Presently, the Commission has reporters from both schools, as well as at-large reporters who cover events. In addition, the Commission has photographers who work along with the reporters when needed.

The Communication Commission welcomes new men and women to become involved. There are NO MEETINGS! Coverage of events is handled on a one-to-one basis. The Commission can always use more typists, computer-savvy individuals, and parishioners who enjoy taking pictures.

We are also responsible (when requested) for sending greetings/ads to local archdiocese events, charitable events, neighboring parishes, etc. as directed by the pastor. We work with the Rectory staff as needed and cooperate with our Vicariate newsletter editor to share Divine Child news.

If you are submitting articles for inclusion in The Infant, copy deadline is noon on Friday, nine days ahead of publication, but it is preferred that you submit your copy well in advance of the deadline. Copy must be typed and submitted via email (preferred method) to marilyn@divinechild.org or can be dropped off at the Rectory Office.

If you are interested in volunteering for any of the above functions, to submit an article, or if you have any questions, please contact the Rectory Office at 313.277.3110 or e-mail to Marilyn O’Brien.
